Sorry about this, I did a search here and found various suggestions coming from way back to 2004 posts.
Am using v2.10.01 obviously but trying to upload avatars either from your machine or url's results in blank page. No mods added to forum and still using fisubice.
Can someone help please?
Thanks |

Please check your directory permissions on the following directory to make sure they are set at 777:
modules/Forums/images/avatars |

Yes, I did it and tried various levels, eventually going all the way up to "modules" being set to 777 and still no joy.
I'm really stumped. Even tried re-uploading all the Forum php files. Noticed that its the "profile.php" is the one giving the blank page. Any other suggestions? |

Well, definitely do NOT set any directories above the one I gave you to anything higher than 755. Be careful not to leave those wide open.
This works on my site, so, I suspect you are missing a file or have a corrupt file. When you re-uploaded, had you re-uploaded the files under the includes directory? If not, try that.
Also, I would use FileZilla, which is free from SourceForge.net, to rule out a bad FTP client (cannot tell you how many times this has been the case). |

Montego, that was it! One of the include files must have been corrupted. I downloaded a fresh copy of RN here, unzipped and just uploaded the relevant files from this new archive.

Well, I use WSftp-Pro normally but just because you've been so helpful (many many thanks for your replies ) I decided to give FileZilla a try and this was what I used to upload just now.
Not sure if it was this that caused the problem or was it my original unzipped archive though. I've been using WSftp-Pro for a while on my 2 websites without problems in the past.
Thanks again Montego! |

You are most welcome. I cannot tell you how many times I have heard "well I have been using such-and-such FTP client forever and never had problems". LOL. But, you are right, it could also have been the archive itself. One never knows. |
