Hi all, I basically had problems with one of my members and I had to delete his account and bann him... thing is he is one of these people that will not leave quietly etc...
Basically he changes his ip and email so its hard to bann him Crying or Very sad
Is it possible that members can only join if I allow it?
I have been to the forum config and clicked to admin but members can still create and post etc?
Also has anyone got any other idea`s where I can stop this guy ?
I know its almost impossible but all idea`s most welcome.
thanks all

Like you said its almost impossible to ban these guys.
Its often like a cat and mouse game. You can use the string blocker, ban via Cidr and the forums options to ban via IP, e-mail, name etc. and they still try to come back to register over proxies.
I used for a limited time the "Jail mod" and banned these users there. So they couldnĀ“t use the forum options and after a while they gave up. So maybe look for a mod who handles temporary bans.
But resourceful like my script-kiddies are, some meant there is a way to vanquish this ban via the Jail mod. I never found out how this works.

If you want to approve members there is the Approve Membership Lite module by Montego. It can be found at http://www.montegoscripts.com

This might not work for you, but this is what I do for a website for a registered society, whose members want the world to know about them, their activites etc, but only want real-time members to interact with the site. I've tried a couple of nuke module options, like Approve Membership and CNBYA, but the most effective method I've found is to create a custom module. It's just a basic form, with fields of my choosing, and the submitted results get sent to me as an email. Then, if the application matches those who are allowed to have accounts, I sign them up manually.
After you create your custom join module, you need to disable the regular registration.
There is a section in the Nuke How-To-Manual
Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login!

For example the new case would look something like this:

case "new_user":
Header("Refresh: 0; url=modules.php?name=Join_Form");
break;
