A digg clone script see this

pligg come out a clone script of digg quite neat but who wants to vote for an article right?

Sorry, late reply.

I mean The pligg design is a little bad in someways. Like the index front page should index the latest entries and make a block on the right or left side to display the most popular rated content.

Digg is indexed by read and rated by reads hit. I think pligg needs to relook the application.

If I were a visitor that visits a pligg site created my first attention would go for the latest content that is displayed on the front page. No visitor would want to see the same article over and over again?

Actually, digg shows the stories that receive the most digg votes, just like pligg, not by the number of reads.

really? The front page is rank by read hits i am not wrong honest. digg has read hit by popular in the front page and ranking by vote it work both ways

I don't see anything that displays number of hits, only recent posts and then posts with the most Diggs. You can also choose the posts with the most diggs (votes) in the last 24 hours, 7, 30, and 365 days.

You can also search Popular vs. Upcoming, but again, "Popular" is determined by diggs (votes) - except for recent, which appears to be chronological. I agree that popular might easily be understood as most hits / reads, but that doesn't appear to be the case.

I think we're confusing terms. I understand why digg is popular, and I've installed and tested pligg (it quickly became a source of link spam, so I had to modify it to be able to remove bad links - not good). My point was simply that for pligg and digg, popular = votes, not hits. You dig? Smile
