Making A site with PHP and mysql!?

Putte23, I'll be willing to bet that everyone here who has responded to your posts has had several hundred hours of combined reading/education/training/experience with PHP, MySQL, etc. to get to where they are today. I'm a rank newbie by comparison, and I've been doing web programming for several years now; I'm also entirely self-taught, so believe me when I tell you that what you're looking for CAN'T be learned without at least getting not one, but several books on the subject (that is, unless you actually LIKE the extra time, effort and frustration of installing a web server, database and complex CMS script - blind).

I'm not trying to put you down here. Far from it, I applaud your interest. And bear in mind that we were ALL new at this at one time or another. You just need to apply yourself in a slightly different manner, such as reading books on the basics. And taking a course on basic English grammar. IMHO, you'll have a whole lot less trouble with scripting in PHP and MySQL if you have a better command of the English language.

Glad that you found a CMS that meets your needs!

Out of curiosity I d/l WebSpell to learn about it. The installation routine is the same as RavenNuke(tm) and most every other application that uses MySQL. There is a configuration file (_mysql.php) that requires you to already have a MySQL database in place with a user and password. So, you still had to create a MySQL database before you could install WebSpell.

We are always looking for ways to make the installation process as simple as possible so we would be interested to know how/why you were able to create your database for WebSpell but not for RavenNuke(tm)?
