One of the things I would like to see added to the next release of RavenNuke(tm) is an FTP module for the users. One of the challenges faced in bringing novices in is teaching them to upload files to their sites. They are used to You Tube and other sites that already have FTP included as part of the service. Thanks folks and keep up the great work!

I'm not sure we would ever include this as standard due to the security risks, but we have included the Forum Attachment mod as an additional extra should webmasters want to use it.

jlajax, since most files would be used in content and that much of that content now has the FCKEditor available for entry (aka: nukeWYSIWYG or Advanced Editor), that editor has the capability to do file uploads even at point of editing. Would that not suffice?

Or, is there another use model that you are needing to satisfy. If so, can you expound a bit on that?

Thank you and keep the feedback coming!

Nevr been able to get the upload function to work in the editor. Additionally need upload control to product specific directories. Near as I can tell the editor has little to no control to it. Have I missed something?

Actually, the "files" option combined with the "Browse" option could possibly still do this. It appeared to me that it had the ability to post to different directories underneath some root. But, I am definitely not the expert on the Editor. Maybe kguske can offer his thoughts here.

I had a client recently which had an upload module, but in his words, his "users" just couldn't figure out how to use it. An unfortunate reality we all have to live with at times.

I recommend WS FTP to my clients however I find that in most instances folks want it done easy. They are used to the systems they only have to select buttons and click with everythings inclusive.

The other thing is I have one shopping cart with close to 3000 products in it. The images are used in the shopping cart, in the portal, and in News articles posted across a network of portals. An independent FTP module would simplify navigation to images for my clients. The huge cart is mine I understand how it is constructd. I have others developing carts though.

Wow... yeah, I can see your point. I am not personally aware of a module that would have that kind of capability. Doesn't mean there isn't one out there...

Just a note to confirm the the editor does allow uploads to multiple directories off the includes/FCKeditor/upload/Image/ path
The latest version of the ditor (not yet packaged with RN) allows a user definable path.
