Iam running RavenNuke7.6_v2.10.01 (no update patch installed should I ?)
The problem that has arisien is that , when a new post is made in any section of the forum the button does not show as light nor flashing at times. So when a member enters the forum he doesnt know that a new post has been made.
Can this be caused due to cookie settings in the admin.php?op=forums settings ? There is a field in the Configuration section for cookies settings, the server/webhotel is not runing SSL.
Hers is a SS of the section I mentioned. Has always been as default from start.
This occurs with any themes being used, ie standard ones supplied with RavenNuke7.6_v2.10.01 or even imported ones as
*/ Theme Name: subBlack /* phpbb2 style
/* Theme Design: coldblooded (www.nukemods.com)
/* version 3.0
or
/* Theme Name: zoneCopper /* phpbb2 style
/* Theme Design: coldblooded (www.nukemods.com)
/* major bug fixes by : Mighty_Y (www.portedmods.com)
/* version 3.0
What can be causing no new posts flashing or light up at times ?
Ive even run Resync for all sections in the forum but no difference. |

Your Cookie domain actually needs to be your domain
And the Cookie path should remain empty or point to the real subdirectory you are using |

ok Ive tried that and my problem is not solved.
I can log off the forum and clear my cookies in my FFox then log on to my forum
and notice that a new post was made by looking at the Date and time in Last Post column, but the post Button is not light up and flashing as it sholud. |

If you have entered the correct details for;
Cookie Domain
Cookie Path
then th only other thing that would cause this if your time offset in your forum profile is not set correctly and your cookie thinks the post was made AFTER your real local time.
I presume you are using one of the themes that came with RavenNuke and it is not a theme problem? |

This is how it looks now
Cookie domain csspcw.com (just an example)
Cookie name csspcwcookie
Cookie path LEFTBLANK
The time offset .. if you mean "System Timezone" in the phpbb admin section is set to GMT + 1 Hour and is showing correctly in the forum.
Ive tested with the standard themes that came with RavenNuke and the problem still occurs for me and my forum members.
Can Pm you the web address så you can have a look. |

Well, only your last question is on topic...

You can only set the default for the site and each user must change their profile for the timezone that they are in. For the overall site default, that is in Forums --> Configuration. You'll see it there further down the page...

The first post in a thread has these settings. As moderator/administrator of a particular forum, you can simply click on Edit for the first post in the thread, and towards the bottom (on most themes) you will see "Normal", "Sticky", and "Announcement". This is where you can change/set that.
Unfortunately, I don't have any familiarity with your last question/statement. |
