Is this for a module access?
I have never actually used this but I was of the understanding that *nuke used a message like "You need to be Subscribed to access this module" where the word 'Subscribed" is a link to your payment page (set in config.php).

If this is for a custom module, you could use the is_paid() function to show the message.

It is for module access - he has a payment gateway that uses NSN groups and the paypal module.

One option that might work:

For the modules that only group members can access, just keep it simple and use the links for the module - since you have locked access to that particular module to an individual group, the only time the link will show up is when one of those group members is logged in.

For the other users - set up separate links that appear that they are going to that module, but instead set it to link to a page that does what you are trying to do. Set the perms on those links so that the group members mentioned previously would never see it - that way if the user joins the group the links for this section go away, and the real module links are now visible.

Just a thought.
