Hi all, I have been having a problem where yahoo is blocking 2 of my phpnuke sites Crying or Very sad
I have looed though the Blocked Harvest settings today and see this at the top of my list

@yahoo.com

is this likely to be the case ? is this not added by default as I have never personally added a Harvest block ever Confused

thanks for any idea`s

cheers

I had never seen that in there before and so my initial reaction was "no" it wouldn't have been added by default, but I looked in the 2.6.0 harvesters.data file just now and sure enough, it is in there. Definitely remove that and you might want to clear all your blocked IPs!

Why remove it? '@yahoo.com' is not 'yahoo.com'.
I currently dont have any problems with it, and its blocked nevertheless.

Not that Yahoo is of any significance Razz

Don't know, but mrix has been having this problem for quite a while, with a lot of help from here trying to get to the bottom of it. This is the only clue...

Ahh yah I remember that topic now.

Are you sure you unblocked all those IP's in NS?

- 74.6.22.120
- 74.6.19.229
- 74.6.19.229
- 74.6.22.95
- 74.6.29.46
- 74.6.29.46

Seems to be everything in the 74.6.*.* range.

In the previous topic you only said you added them to the protected range but did you actually unblock them from your 'blocked ip's'?

Looking at the ban reason

Quote:
You have attempted to improperly access the admin area of this site.

I wonder if your robots.txt is functioning properly?
Is you admin section excluded from indexing?

Code:
Disallow: /admin.php

Disallow: /admin/

Edit:
I see its blocked but you're making an exception for YahooSeeker not to exclude anything at all

Code:
User-agent: YahooSeeker

Disallow:

User-agent: *
Disallow: /admin.php
Disallow: /admin/

I would remove those 1st two lines.

Hi thanks for the idea`s, the yahoo User-agent: YahooSeeker was added just recently just trying to stop the blocked yahoo problem..but with your advise have rtemoved it. I have since added new yahoo ips to the exemptions which I hope could work Question
I live in hope Very Happy
Its just so strange that even though yahoo I can clearly see from the cach has been blocked, my site is still in the yahoo listings??????
cheers all

But are you sure you unblocked them all?

You may want to check your 'Admin blocker settings' as well.
And use 'Forward' to automatically send them back to your homepage (index.php) when they try to enter your admin.php.

P.S. Are you sure you installed NukeSentinel correctly, cause it shouldnt display the version number in the abuse templates any longer if i'm correct.

Goto http://www.user-agents.org/index.shtml and search for @yahoo.com . You get a few more then just @yahoo.com but it is tied directly to retriever bot. A bad boy that is. Now, on those "Yahoo" blocks, what are the user agents and what is the reason it was blocked. 10 to 1 it isn't the @yahoo.com string. Yahoo normally uses yahoo-inc.com and no @ at that.

Oh, also the 74.x.x.x range has been a recent release from the IANA reserved list as well. If it's been a long time since you had updated the ip2country database they would have been blocked under the "Invalid IP" reasoning.
