I have to .pak files uploaded to two different places. Yet when I go to administration> General Admin> smilies> import smileys pak, it doesn't allow me to upload either pak. So where should I put the smileys and pak file so i can import them? |

I have never ever used this so I'm not sure but I think the paks go in modules/Forums/images/smilies
Do you see the pak file in the drop down box when you use the 'Import Smiley pak' |

No. That's the problem. I don't see the pak file in the drop down box. But there is a pak file in that directory (modules/forums/images/smilies). And there is a bunch of smilies in that area. |

OK, the smiley pack should be a compressed file (gzip, rar, zip etc).
You need to unpack it, load all the individual images into the smilie directory (as above) but also there should be a file called something.pk with the images and that needs to be uploaded with them as well.
You should then see the smiley pak file in the drop down. |

Can you confirm this worked for you?
I tested it on my own site but it's always nice to make sure there are no other problems. |

Ok, I don't have the something.pk file. I have a smileys.pak file but nothing else. |

So long as it has the .pak extension which the code looks for you should be good to go |

Yes. I've got a bunch of gif images of smileys. They are all unzipped and in the folder described above. |

Then when you click the drop down box you should see the pak file in the drop down smileys.pak if you don't see it then either the pak file isn't really there, isn't readable or something is broken.
I presume you are using RavenNuke (tm)?
I tested on both a new install and an upgrade site. |
