How to stop direct linking to downloads

Hi All

A few months back we had ppls from Turkey constantly downloadin 1 map pack (250meg). Over a a period of 12 to 15hrs they used up 250gig of bandwidth. When I checked the access log file I noticed the following from thier IP's

http://mysite.com/downloads/file.zip

I have changed the Download folder to 444 at the moment, but need it open for members to download from.

I have installed the NSN GR Downloads module
Only group members can view the Downloads
I have blocked thier IPs within Nuke Sentinel

If I put the folllowing in to the address bar http://mysite.com/downloads/file.zip it brings up the save file box

What is the best way if possible to stop this?
Would it make any diffrence if I placed the downloads within the NSN GR Downloads module ?

First cheers for the link, however I did search the forums for Hotlink and Direct links, since I did not find a solution my last resort was to post for advise.

Remember you can use 'and' and 'or' when searching to narrow your searches down. Very Happy
