Hi All

Finally got tired of Ipowerweb and my 40 plus second page loads!

I am in the process of moving the site now - to be precise - the new host is moving it for me as a part of the signup.

And no worries by the way - my site is still running at ipowerweb and I have not changed dns or cancelled yet . ...

They have transferred everything and setup the databases (I only had 2)

The site is still so far not loading - that is - I can log into the admin control section and see the full page - and I can see the full page of the account page. On all other pages I just see the top header - nothing below it - no left - right - center blocks.

I have an integrated gallery 2 installation. At first they did not copy the gallery2 folder which is outside the html folder. Now they have copied it over.

They report this error:

I've re-transferred the whole gallery2 directory from the previous host's server to your account with us and it is still throwing the "PHP Fatal error: Call to a member function onLoad() on a non-object in /**path removed by admin**/modules/gallery2/modules/core/classes/helpers/GalleryEntityHelper_simple.class on line 91" error.

Doing a quick search on the issue it appears it may be related to the URL rewrite rules used by Gallery and the 'Statistics' module. I'm not sure if you use the Statistics module but if you do try disabling it (should work when the website is accessed using the domain name, though).

I am pretty sure I did not have the gallery2 URL rewrite rules enabled since its a known issue and mentioned in the setup instruections.

He also mentioned these errors (this was before he copied the gallery2 data folder over):

PHP Warning: include() [function.include]: Failed opening 'banners.php' for inclusion (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /**path removed by admin**/themes/T3-Multi_Light/head.php on line 124

There is also a PHP error related to the gallery2 script under the account listed in the error log so I am inluding that below as well:

PHP Fatal error: Call to a member function onLoad() on a non-object in /**path removed by admin**/modules/gallery2/modules/core/classes/helpers/GalleryEntityHelper_simple.class on line 91

Its my understanding I do not need to worry about the banners.php error since my theme is setup for that and raven uses advertising module?

Anyway - what should I do?

My site is pretty new so there are no concerns with losing user accounts - a bazillion forum posts - etc.

What would be the best use of my time?

Should I just reinstall ravennuke over the top? Re-install the gallery2 integration?

or just start fresh at the new host?

or do battle with the errors and make this one go?

Thanks in advance

Kyle

Update:

I had disabled the gallery2 module when the site would not load. I had forgot to disable the photo block which shows a random photo picture from the gallery.

With both block and module disabled the site loads fine.

I am going to try a reinstall of gallery 2

Definitely looks like a gallery issue

Kyle, I have removed your detailed paths in the message above. You do NOT want to post that out in the open public in the future! Its a security concern.

It might be easiest to re-install Gallery and point it at your existing set of albums. I am no expert, but, I do recall the installation is pretty easy, but lots of "decisions" are being made by the installer to get things configured right. Hopefully your new host has all the Gallery2 prerequisites...

You may be able to find the answer to this issue "Failed opening 'banners.php' for inclusion" by searching in the forums here. It has to do with you having an older theme with a newer *nuke such as RavenNuke. I take it you also upgraded your site to the latest RavenNuke? You will need to review your theme code to see what needs to be changed. Compare with what is provided as fisubice in the RavenNuke distro if it helps.

Hi Montego

Thanks for covering my back and removing that path!

I did try reinstalling over the top and gallery did start working but had some issues and thus was not working 100%

I did indeed decide to drop the database and delete all the files and start over with gallery. They just released version 2.3 today so I decided to start clean.

I already have another php-nuke gallery integration running on the new host so everything should be good there.

I am running RN 2.20 which I believe is the latest unless the 2.3 of RN is available.

Surprised

Do I need to fix the banners.php error right away? Or is it something I dont need to worry about until I need the advertising module which I am not currently using.

Thanks again.

Do you have banners turned on in your ACP -> Preferences? If so, you could try turning them off and maybe it will not produce the error. But, it really depends upon how your theme was coded.

2.20.01 is the latest-and-greatest, but 2.30.00 is close I can almost smell it... Laughing

Yup - I have turned off banners in the ACP.

Have not checked if I am still having the errors yet since I am in the middle of the gallery install.

Oh - one thing I should say about ipowerweb since I was talking bad about them.

I still have a site there but its all html based. Runs great. Just stay away from them when it comes to php-nuke.

I believe that you've made the correct choice in just reinstalling Gallery. It is hard enough to get it to work correctly in embedded mode (inside RN) as it is and trying to transfer the files over is a doomed task (IMHO). I have posted a few issues over at NukedGallery.net recently. However the support for running Gallery inside Nuke is minimum at best. We are getting what we pay for in this case.

As M. points out their installation routine (which is really first rate) sets up all sorts of paths and moving the files to a new site is not going to adjust those. Plus I think there are all sorts of pointers between their database and the gallery data directory which is part of the site file system and I don't think those pointers will ever be straight if the installation is just moved.
