What do you mean by "separate window"? Do you mean a block or an iframe or ____?

i want to put it in an iframe. The current theme I use does not display the broadcast message anywhere and I have a "hole" in my page I can put it in if I had some code.

I don't think you wnat an iframe. Just some code to display the code in the "hole" in your theme.

dezblack, the theme fisubice that comes with RavenNuke(tm) (get it here on this site if you do not have it), has the code to get the public message as well as to place it on the page.

Open up theme.php and you will see where it calls a function that is in mainfile.php to get the public message:

$public_msg = public_message();

Then, you will see in header.html where $public_msg variable is placed within the theme.

You just need to do something similar I think.
