Raven,

Perhapse you can help me. I am having an issue that I can not seem to fix and the one time I did fix it (on another server at work).....<blush>...I have no idea how or why. Anyway here's the scoop.

When installing PHPNuke onto Win32 systems using Apache 1.3.x (latest stable) and PHP (in ISAPI mode not CGI EXE). Everything works great. Logon as Admin everything works great. Login as user and you get the big nothing. Just a blank white page free of all errors, content and anyform of troubleshooting aids. This EXACT same condition exists if you use IIS.

Here's my base setup.

PHPNuke 7.2 (patched to your 2.4 security fix)
Windows 2000 Advanced Server (no symlinking..just straignt up DIRs)
PHP 4.3.4 (base)
Apache/1.3.31 (Win32) PHP/4.3.6

Aside from your security fixes, and the hackattempt. script there is nothing custom about the installation...in fact it is straight out of the box.

Everything else works fine (being the following items)

Jinzora
phpMyAdmin

John

p.s. This is my home intranet....so I may be able to open to someone for troubleshooting but it should be a last resort.

Check your Apache error log first of all. Then, make sure your config.php file is correct and that your users table has no errors. When you say you can log in as admin, are you able to actually perform admin functions? Like add users?

Not sure if this is the same problem, but I seem to run into problems with the Your_account module which gives me similar issues on a new install:

If user account status stays offline in PHPNuke 7.0 after login make the following change:

In file modules/your_account/index.php

Replace ALL occurrences of:
Header("Location: modules.php

With:
Header("Refresh: 0;url=modules.php

Raven,

SgtBookie's tip appears to have cured the issue. For future references.... I could create users and perform all Administrative tasks. My config.php was fine (this is the easy part).

To the bolth of you, thank you ! Back on track.

Wow! I'd have to say this would be the first time I've made a suggestion and it worked! Woohoo! I have finally contributed to the Nuke community.

I've been plagued with issues since starting up a Nuke site with IIS. Logic would dictate a move to Apache, but I just keep finding myself plugging away with IIS.

This is an IIS issue. You said you are running Apache?!? My guess is you also have IIS running.

Actually no. I'm no kiddie in the field. I'm a Network Engineer/Server Engineer of 10 years and a 3 year VB veteran(Completly new to PHP though hehheh). Actually turns out there were two issues. In my haste I also forgot about a custom theme that I installed ( Embarassed ) and had set for the default user (one created to mirror admin account at firt sign-up). Your suggestion's actually cured the issue (after reading your most recent responce I replaced my Your_account\index.php with its original).

Anways...it was revealed when I created a new user to test admin functions and logged on as that user...which prompted me to compare users when the new one worked....and then on to the server logs....which revealed a missing style sheet. So I deleted the Theme which caused to accound to default to the site's default theme.....fixing the issue.

Its amazing how hastily you rush through server configs when they're yours eh ? I fix them all week....last thing I need is to be on them at home...but the wifey has grown so accustomed to the central home system that we've begun to earn our keep installing them in some other homes...centralized Music system, recapies, calendaring, med. management...etc...

Now back to SgtBookie.....his solution did fix our IIS server at work....I remoted in and applied it after reading your post as well.....so SgtBookie....you still helped out !!! Very Happy

Anyways...thanks again
