Hey guys
After finally getting my site running with the fantastic help of jakec and others Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! I am now having problems with load times of pages.
Sometimes it actually doesn't load and you have to close and reload, even refreshing it doesn't work.
I know it's not just me and/or a browser issue as a couple of my members who both run different browsers are getting the same problems with it being very slow.
Any help would be fantastic. |

You will find several helpful tips if you use the search function. |

Thanks Susann I'll check that out
Edit: I have done that already and although it seems to have made a little difference it is still relatively slow at certain points. |

My load time check said: 31,889 sec
Really terrible !
You have around 95 errors at the main page and the source code started with line 3 instead 1. I would change this and remove the languages I donĀ“t need. The real issue is possible a combination of several things. E.g. the size of your images and your theme and your host.
With short urls I suppose the site will never load. |

bilko, I would get yourself FireFox, its Firebug extension and then Yslow:
http://developer.yahoo.com/yslow/
This will give you insight into what Susann is referencing too.
I don't know what the following resource is, but it trips up YSlow:
http://360club.co.uk/images/blocks/shout_box/sleep.gif
It takes a very long time to come back. My suggestion to you is to reduce references to external sites if you have any and even try shutting off blocks until you find out which one or two might be causing these issues (you might start with the shout box). A normal RN site will not behave this way. |

If you switch back to one of the stock themes what are the load times like? |

When debugging for load times, it is also pretty mandatory to start with the core/virgin install. Then start adding modules/blocks back one at a time. Once you have that worked through, then start working on the theme changes. Just a suggestion. But, yslow will tell you more than you ever wanted to know |
