Hi all this is probably an easy one but what fiel do we have to edit to change the front page keywords?
I thought it was includes/meta.php ? I have changed the keywords in this file but find they dont change when I check the page source??
Could be some kind of cache issue I suppose?
Cheers all

In 2.4 there is a new dynamic titles module. If you are using a stock theme at the top you will see a buttom named SEO. Click this and you can edit the keywords in the popup window.

Hello thanks for the help, at present I have 2 sites that do not use stock themes, one is my old clanmts theme that I have just had some great help off from anothe rmember of this forum and another is a theme purchased from clanthemes.com called anzio.
The Anzio theme doesn't have a SEO link so is there another way for me to access the meta details like another link etc???
thanks

There is a block called nukeSEOdh. Activate that and set it to be viewable by admin only. Once the block is active navigate to the page(s) in question and change the keywords.

You could also ask FloppyDriveZ or xGSTQ to see what it would take to bring the theme up to v2.4 compliance Wink

In RN 2.4, we replaced includes/meta.php with nukeSEO DH, which dynamically generates the HEAD section, including 3 key tags: title, META description and META keywords. It also allows you to override them. Both generation and overrides are / can be done at multiple levels (i.e. site, module, category, subcategory, content). The site level is required and should definitely be changed from the default.

Yes, you can also access the link by adding the block nukeSEOdh. I'd recommend putting it on the left and only making it visible to admins.

This block shows the current page's title, META description and META keywords and displays a link for site admins to override them. It's the same link as the SEO link in the nukeNAV menu.

If you're comfortable changing PHP scripts, you can also add the nukeNAV menu to your theme pretty easily (follow the link jakec provided above, and I'll eventually add more details to that).

Thanks for the help Cool
I have one problem I cant find the answer to which is, is there a way to limit the default description size ?
When I go to my forums and check the Description size its huge which is not great for SEO, basically at the moment the description appears to be using all the topic text???
thanks for any idea`s on this.
Cheers
mrix
p.s I can understand you can change them indivdually but I have 1,000`s of topics Shocked

Yes, you can limit the description size.

In includes/nukeSEO/dh/dh.class.php, change every instance (there are 3) of:
Code:
            $metavalue = seoHTMLtoMETA($contentTDK['DESCRIPTION'], 'DESCRIPTION',1000);

where 1000 is the maximum length of the description.

I'll make that configurable in the next release.
