My problem is that when I add a member as moderator in my forum, 2 other members shows up as moderators also.
I have done a fresh install (no upgrade) of V2.40.00 and inserted my Nuke_Users from my old v2.10.01 data base.
I ran the fixgroup script and it showed a few members as follow have the same:
Randy 22
Bill 83
Dennis 83
I am not sure this has anything to do with it but there are a couple more members that have the same group numbers, not 83 but other values.
Please try and point a noob (me) in the right direction. |

This is going to be a real hard to walk you through because it could potentially be a lot of different things.
First how are you trying to assign someone as moderator? Are you adding them to a group you gave moderator rights to or are you editing the individual user permissions for the user? |

Make sure, too, that you are using the "Edit Groups" and not forum group management to get the right users into the right groups. Then you just select the right groups from within forums management to the right forums. |

First of all I want to thank everyone for your help.
I never thought I had a need for groups and never paid much attention to it up until now.
I have been trying to use the User Permissions Control to set a user for moderator.
I have 270 users and 35 of them look like this and it just so happens that one of them is a person that I would like to have as a moderator:
Raymond 83
Benny 83
Michael 83
Now if I pick anyone of these guys to be a moderator the other two will show up also as moderators.
Can I manually change the groups in my database and if so where can I |

Each user should have a unique "personal group" number. The only reason users would have similar numbers if you made a group and added them to it. It is really hard to tell you want to do without actually seeing it as it appears you have a few problems. Short of fixing this completely you could make a new group; add the user in question to it; make group moderator of said forum(s). |

Problem seems to be corrected. lol
Today I figured I didn't have anything to loose so I deleted all the groups that were doubled in my Nuke_BBGROUPS and then I ran Fixgroup again.
Fixgroup then gave them all a unique "personal group" number.
I am a noob and you guys are the experts but I don't believe this is a help/fix for anyone except for members like myself that can afford to play around with their group ids .
I am now able to make who ever I want a moderator without others being adding also.
Raven v2.40.00 is great and a donation is in the mail!!!!
Thanks again everyone. |

I believe that if you had used the Edit Groups feature first and assigned your Moderator to that default group that is already there, this should have worked. You could have also created a new group just for these special moderators and assigned those groups in the forums admin to the appropriate forums. Any time you go direct to the forums admin to manage user groups/users, you are going to have issues IMO. |

danno58, I think your solution is fine. That is basically what I wanted to suggested, but I wasn't sure of how much you could handle. Especially if it caused a problem. Glad you got it fixed! ![Dance-Y](modules/Forums/images/smiles/dance.gif) |
