Synchronization from groups

Happy Easter to all of you.

Yesterday I had a problem giving permission to one user so I got the same error.

Could not obtain moderator status...

So I use this to fix my problem.

www.yourdomain.com/modules/Forums/fixgroup.php

When I buckup some old users to my phpMyAdmin I wanted to give some permissions to some of theme and then AGAIN I go the same problem.. when I give permission.

Could not obtain moderator status...

Analizing the problem I find out why I was having the same error all the time.

The problem is my list of groups are mixed and not organized

Example: Anonymous (11)
pedro (6)
marko(45)

As you see this is just an example but I have more which is messed up and I wonder how can I make the groups organized again?

Pedro 2
Marko 3

What I noticed this file fixgroup.php doesnt syncronize it so my question is:

Is there any script out there to do this job? Thanks in advance.

Your group IDs do not have to be sequential.

Can you please explain to me why not? I have to run the fixgroup frequently when I want to give permission to one new user trying to add it to that specific group. ????
