ok, noticed when adding downloads to a site.. (also on forums post)

if the download disc/forums post is short maybe 2 or 3 sentences it dose post on though to the db.

but now if it is a very long post or disc. In the forums it just gives some weird sql debug error.. and in the downloads it acts like it posts the info to db, but it dose not.

is this something in the PHP.INI that could be causing it. say a max post size issue or some other "post" setting in php.ini?

my instinct tells me its a php.ini setting issue thus why im posting here and not in php-nuke.

What version of *nuke are you running? If it's Ravennuke, see the instructions for activating data base logging in the rnconfig.php file and activate it and see what's in your dblog file after the error occurs.

php.ini is very unlikely to have anything to do with this. Forums administration has a built in phpinfo command that you can run to see your php settings (and other information).

Well what is the error you get in the forums?

I guess the php.ini directive you are looking for is post_max_size, if you are willing to change its value do it carefully and I'll recommend reading the Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! for php.ini directives.

Hope this helps...

in the forums its dealing with the "insert into bb_search" but as I said only appears on really long posts.

looking though the php.ini in the manual. got to check on what post max is set to.

I'm using RN (I know you are using Evo) but I cannot even find a table by that name. The closest I can see are;
_bbsearch_results
_bbsearch_worldist

It might be worthwhile checking that table manually to see what the field limit is on the field that is having data posted to it.
I have a sneaking suspicion that maybe the field have a limit such as varchar(255) ot it might be a 'text' field which I think has a limit of 64,000 characters
