I am willing to hire someone to build an RN Subscription Mod with the understanding that it would be built to RN Standards AND that it would be released to the public for download when complete. ( or Included in RN in the future if Raven wants to include it)
It must....
Offer Subscriptions based on RN and NSN Groups
Accept Paypal verified and unverified as payment.
Alter the users Group membership in NSNGroups.
Include a Block to Display availible Subscriptions
Include admin areas to set up Subscriptions with editor, Prices, Time Period, E-Mail for Payment and E-Mail address for notifications.
Display area for Subscription Purchase
There are most likely a few more things in the Specs but that is all I can think of for now.
Interested?
Post Up!

I hope someone jumps on this....
I paid the other fellow in full....then wound up getting my money back.
I would really like to see this happen and I think that it will make a BIG + for RN to have it availible.

(of course the site is down when I have time to work on it ) |

I wanted something like this a while back, I have opted for the Western Studios Subscription module, I am just in the process of getting that set up now.
I do how ever have a custom built membership module that was built for a site I run which they have been using for nearly 3 years.
To me though it is not finished. What I mean by that is after someone has paid, it does not add them to the NSN group, but only to the assigned forums group. I think this was at the time the site had php-nuke and did not have NSN groups installed. So it will also not remove them from that group automatically, this has to be done manually.
But if someone could get it to work with NSN groups and somehow add the date in there then it would auto remove them from that.
If your interested I would be willing to send this module and let it be built on and finished if you wanted to.
Thanks Kenno |

I use the WS one as well....I am just not happy with it and I want one that is built for RN to RN standards.
Send it to me and I will have a look. If it already has the paypal stuff in it I can write the NSN stuff.
I will send you a PM with my e-mail address.
Thanks!

If there is code in there to add them to a forum group then it should be easy to have them added an NSN group. If you send it to me I may have time to look at it. |

Why what is the matter with the WS one, please don`t say it don`t work correct, as I have just paid out a bit of money for that ?
There is paypal integration in this already, as this is what the site has been using for payments for the last 3 years.
I will send you both it
Thanks Kenno |

Kenno,
The WS one works fine.....it is just very cumbersome to work with. In order to work with NSN it had to be altered. The coding is very high end and hard for me to understand and/or edit.
I have long thought that a build in system for RN would make all the difference in the world as a CMS. It should be bult in....secure....and work as expected.
and I am willing to put my money where my mouth is...again.
Just my .02

What did you think to the module I sent you ?

Thanks Kenno |

Depends on what you mean
We wouldn't be able to use a modified version of WS Subscription as part of RN because it's a commercial script. Although the license would allow it, it isn't quite that simple. |

The offer still stands. I will pay for someone to create it to be included in RN.

I was thinking about making a simple Subscriptions module the other day. I was thinking of using Google Checkout because they put the money into any account you want them to and they also offer a passkey for their Buy Now buttons. I was thinking of using that passkey that they send back on a completed transaction to determine what subscription level they bought and setting the user into the appropriate group that way. In my head it seems pretty straight forward. I may try to start on it this weekend. |

Nuken,
I have always thought that this is the one thing that is really missing from RN. You pay money to be added to a "Group" for X number of days. That is all the control that is needed.
Thanks!
