I have the htc eris with the android system and I love it. While the phone is a little underpowered cpu wise that is what happens with the first releases of phones for a new system. I am sure the next phone I get will have a higher cpu and all will be better.
All in all the android system is amazing and in my mind a lot better than the iphone. I can't wait to see newer versions of the android system. The apps you can get are countless and keep growing day by day. When I got my phone 6 months ago there were 30,000 apps and now there are around 50,000. |

You can see the apps I have on my HTC Incredible Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login!.
I am working through development tutorials and waiting for the latest tool from Google... There are several tools that support development for Android and other mobile platforms simultaneously, though most (all but 1) do this by leveraging web technologies. The one that does not creates native applications for each platform... |

I have the Motorola Droid and for the most part love it too. My only gripes are with the battery life (i think an issue with any such device still) and horrible speaker phone. LOVE the slide out keyboard and the tons of free apps... I was recently in MN on a visit and the mosquitoes there are pretty much the state bird! I downloaded an app that would emit an ultrasonic frequency that actually repelled them! Amazing what you can find... |

I have a HTC Magic, but hoping to upgrade in December to a HTC Desire, or whatever the latest and greatest Android phone is at the time.
Android is great because it is so much more open than the iphone.
Unfortunately programming for Android is a bit above me at the moment, but I believe Google have some good tools to help you. |

Nice! This is the result of rooting my HTC Incredible (Verizon), installing Wireless Tethering (2.0.5 pre 9 - 2.0.2 did not work), then running speed test while in San Francisco:

Well, I spoke too soon. My PC wasn't connected to the wireless Android, but to the hotel's network... I'll have to keep trying.
Yes, I received the OTA update to 2.2, which sadly slowed down the dinc (Droid Incredible). Still working on that, too, but, overall, I'm very happy with it. |

I bought the Sprint HTC Evo as soon as it came out. I'm still in the "discovery" mode as time allows. |
