At 3:00am this morning a user registered and posted 10 illegal posts selling sunglasses. Sad

If I deactivate the user, the posts remain. If I remove the user, the posts remain but show posted by "anonymous".

Is there an easy way to remove the user AND the posts in one easy swipe? After the fact is easy, block the IP, user, block range and so on.

I haven't had to do that since RN, so not really sure... but back in the day, removing a User through the Forums admin would also delete their posts. Hopefully that still works. If not, it's relatively easy to hand-remove 10 posts.

I'll have a look at the forums user management, etc. but it's not all THAT easy to remove 10 posts manually - have to remove each one individually. When you have 20 to 30 posts from 2 to 3 different users, it gets rather labor intensive.

Come to think of it I believe I did see something regarding "remove all posts" somewhere in a user configuration, probably the forum like you say.

Cheers

It appears that deleting a user in Forums => Users => Management not only deletes the user but also, without mention, removes all of their posts as well. I tried this on an "experimental" "user". Wink

The only problem with that method is that if the user in question is part of a multi-threaded post/reply, etc. Removes the user AND any posts they made in that thread, useless or not. Small price to pay nonetheless, IMHO of course.

I would like to see when deactivating a user, you get the textarea box but I would also like to see a checkbox "Remove All Posts By This User". I still think I've seen something like this "somewhere" tho. The "old curmudgeon" strikes again.

Do a search for all posts by the user, load each one, click the X in the top right corner - deleted. Fairly simple. Maybe a minute or two to remove 10? Hope the other way works out. : )
