I'm going to ask this question to you two here and then will move the thread so don't start a discussion until i move it.
I've been thinking about opening up a Forum Category for Christians and possibly Aplogetics, Defending the Faith, etc. Would you be interested in it and possibly moderating with me? |

That is something to think about. I am sure it could get quite interesting. It can also get very intense. We would really want to talk about ground rules and such. I have a little experience with this on some other boards and for the most part it went pretty well.
Let me think about it a little. |

Totally agree on the rules. I accepted Christ 4/10/1979. I know the disucssions will be intense and I haven't formulated it all. I'd really like to offer free hosting (limited) to True Christian Ministries, Missions, Youth Camps, etc. |

I read your 'believe' document you told me to get. I agree with it 100%. I would say you and I would get along great as far as the core of what we believe. |

I would only add, for clarification, that it was not His death, but His Blood that gives the forgiveness of all sin (without the shedding of blood, there is no sacrifice). And, it's though His death, burial, and resurrection that He conquered death and that we can appropriate that victory , eternally, once saved always saved, through acceptance of His blood atonement. |

I'm Baptist, but I try not to let the issue of doctrines stand in the way of the main goal. And that should be the goal of telling all, of Christ Jesus' love for them.
edit: Well, got to run I forgot to pay the phone bill I better go do that or I'll be gone until Monday ! |

I have mostly Baptist blood in me.
Celebration Community Fellowship is a non-denominational church. We believe in the gifts of the holy spirit but we bring a baptist feel to it. Our pastor was the youth leader at the local baptist church for 15 or so years.
Our church motto is 'Love God, Love People' and that is our main focus. If we do this special forum I believe that when someone posts our main consern for them should be the condition of their soul.
I think the 3 of us have the same core belief and that is a stong place to build something. |

Solid conservative baptist also, but not KJV only. I believe in the Gifts of the Holy Spirit, but I also believe that not all gifts are still needed today and therefore are no longer being bestowed upon men. I believe in loving the sinner but hating the sin. I believe that our actions should be based on the Priciples of Scripture, but that also allows for various practices in application. |

We just cover that very issue of Spiritual Gifts in a resent bible study. And how some of this gifts are not given to man anymore. Raven as you pointed out to me, I have the gift of Exhortation I believe that you are correct in believing that way, I'm with you !
Edit: If you are going to move this thread, you better act fast it seem this is turning into a discussion. |

Many Christian leaders have told me and shown me that my main gift is probably that of Discernment. It has served us well through the years |

I guess this is where I would say that I believe a little differently as far as the gifts go.
Evangelism is immeasurably more important than the gifts. The only reason I brought it up is I felt it important for you guys to know where I stand on the matter. I am not dogmatic about them but I do believe in them all.
Our main focus at CCF is evangelism of the lost. We belive in equipping of the saints for ministry. We belive in making disciples nut just believers. We belive that loving people is where you start evangelism.
We are a Life Group based church. We have small groups that meet once a week in people's homes. This is where we believe we can have the most effective evangelistic ministry. We get together Sundays to worship corporately. |

Paul spoke strongly that no gift is any more importand than another. Evangelism cannot be more important than the gifts for one simple reason. Without the gifts of the Holy Sprit in Acts 2, there would have been no evangelism. It was directly throught the temporary gift of tongues that evangelism was made possible. |

Hehe....well...what I meant was evangelism as an action...not as much as Evangelism as a gift. |

Evangelism is a Spirital Gift and I think the gift of GAB falls right in there with evangelism !! |
