How do I post a picture in a message on home page

How do I post a message on the home page?

I have tried creating a message and dragging the picture into the editor. It shows up while I am in the editor, but after I save it, the picture is not in the message.

I have tried linking to it in the directory structure like this as I used to do in php-nuke:

<img src="/images/SKS.gif" height="315" width="600" align="middle" border="0">

But only the text shows.

The nukeWYSIWYG editor should have an image button that you click and upload the image from your computer.
