Captcha, not being excepted.

Is this the correct captcha graphic and does it look like it should for this version of RN ?

I would like to make it easier to enter the captcha for all of my users.

Any help much appreciated.

Regards -TheBishop.

Yes, that's pretty much what it looks like.. Can't really say why it was failing for you.. If you want to make it easier to enter the captcha there are few things you can do. You can set
$gfx_chk = 6;
in config.php which will require it for "Administrators and new users registration only"

You can also change the background image
http://www.ravenphpscripts.com/postt19176.html

and there are also a handful of settings regarding the captcha in the same file referenced in the link above.

Could this have something to do with the "Automatic login key expiry feature" ?

Mine was set to 21 days, and it's been about 21 days since I last had this same problem, But I am on the site everyday and this only relates to people who have not visited the site in that time period correct ?. sorry if I am being anal, but this stuff bugs me. Smile

I was finally able to log in after backing out my log in info, and retyping everything from scratch.

I will take you're suggestion Donkey and change the gfx background, I guess I'm just getting older. Razz

[2nd-edit]

#1st: I'm having some strange problems and I'm not sure if it's my browser or this site. The only way I could find this post to reply, was by visiting the link in the email I received when SpasticDonkey posted.

I cannot find it in on this path in the forums >> Ravens PHP Scripts And Web Hosting Forum Index ยป v2.4 RN Issues, yet that is where this post is located.

Also after editing my last post in this thread, I tried to re-edit because I had forgotten something and the edit would not show in the new edit box, see video Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login!

It sounds like a browser cache problem. What browser and version are you using?

Firefox 4.0.1.

Susan pointed me to you're other post Nuken, where you say to set the "browser.cache.check_doc_frequency" to 1.

I have edited this post three times in rapid succession and it seems to have helped. Wink

Here is that link for anyone else who is having this problem with firefox.

I have never experienced this myself and I use a number of different browser, including FF 4.x
The only thing I have had sporadic problems with is if you type in the CAPTCHA and hit enter (instead of using the submit button) but even that is quite rare to give me a problem.

Howdy Guardian2003,

I will tell you a funny story. About three months ago, I took my main box into a PC repair shop to do a little trouble shooting, and the tech only plugged in three pins (out of 4) on the floppy drive. When he powered up the PC, the thing went up in flames.

The power cable from the floppy to the power supply lit like a cannon fuse.
After installing a brand new power supply and floppy drive, I have been having issues with the box ever since and I'm now in small claims court with them. killing me

In Firefox all versions: shift+reload will request a new page regardless of cache and it's settings in about:config
