Champion Module Error message

I turned my error messaging on after updating my RN 2.40.01 to 2.5 and I noticed this error message above the "Champion" challenge us module:

I don't quite understand what it is looking for.

It sounds like that module has some older code in it. That line would need to be converted to $db->sql_numrows() There are probable several similar changes that will be needed. If you need help with it, you could pm me with a copy of the module and I will try to make the needed changes.

I uploaded what you gave me, and the error message on the champion module went away, but now I am having an issue with the Member Application. The Champion module and the Member application go hand in hand, even though they are different modules.
This is the error code I get, but I am sure there is more that is wrong like the champion module:

Is it the Member Application 2.14 by Tim Leitz? If it is, that is encrypted with Ioncube and can't be modified.
