It's the bug... When I set forums in Admin Control panel as protection, when I open forums in ACP. It would ask you for username and password. When I put certain username and password while .staccess is 640 or 644 chmod, it will not be accessed by you. It will work great when you change chmod from that to 777 when you type the same certain username and password.

And also I remember that I put my password from .staccess (RN 2.3) to .staccess (RN 2.4) while it's 640 or 644 chmod. It's working great too.

I am puzzled. You certainly do not want to use 777. 644 is appropriate. Did you use the same path in the modules/Forums/admin/.htaccess file that you used in your root .htaccess file?

I solved that problem. I put a wrong chmod. lol... It has to be 666. And I have to put the password on auth pass over auth admin list. I haven't tried 644 yet.

Once you have edited that .htaccess file under modules/Forum/admin, you can definitely change it back to 644 (and I would encourage you to do so). Mine is set up exactly this way with no problem.
