I have a user - not registered - that was trying to access of our sites because she has friends that post there. She's being blocked with the message:

Quote:
You have attempted to access this site with an invalid IP

I cannot find her IP address anywhere in any of the block lists or the htaccess deny portion.

The user checks out ok, no problem.

Any idea where that IP would be located in the system? 184.18.117.95

Whick one of the blockers throws that page "invalid IP" ?

It's such a non-site to begin with, disabling the IP check isn't a problem. Interesting that IP being NEW?

Thanks

It has happened to me a few times when I have been in Poland or Slovakia. The ever increasing demand for new IP's to route traffic ends up with the ISP obtaining a new netblock, which was previously either 'unknown' or 'reserved' and I ended up with one and couldn't access several sites I normally did.
That is one reason I have had NS disabled for about 4 months now.

Interesting. I've got a site admin here on Vancouver Island who can't get past the invalid IP function. I've searched high and low for their IP number to be in a database anywhere on the server and I can't find it. And then, as soon as I turned off NS, bingo he was in. I also have an issue with just an anon user who can't get past invalid IP, and he is in Calgary. Neutral

You could try to update you IP2C

http://www.code-authors.com/cart/nuke-sentinel-ip2c

That should fix the issue.

Thanks, I'll give that a try. Picked up an html5 cheat sheet too. Smile
