got the WIW block and I have a problem with it. It has no background. or to the point it only hs the backgroud of the default theam, which for almost all my theams is very dark. I can not read the text in the block. I looked at the block and did not see anything that jumped out at me that I could change that would make the blok look like all the other block as far as background went.

You will have to look in both the block and the module to see what's going on. As you can see it does work on my site so I know the inheritance of the styles works. Depending on the theme you are using, you may need to touch up the code for your theme.
