I've herd some mixed messages abotu php 5 and nuke. Does anyone have a list of the things in nuke that don't work? The only thing I noticed, which could have been the config, the header refresh dosent work. Which means when you loggin might as well forget about going anywhere any time soon. Rolling Eyes

I know Raven, you have told me its not for a production site. I understand, but someone needs to stand up and speak to these webhosts who are going to switch to php 5. Exclamation

Just for an example, Corky's webhost switched, and now extremephpbb wont work. I tried to talk some sence into his host but the techs wouldn't listen to me. They pulled the 'we dont support modded bb's' card out on me.
I had made Corky switch to cpgnuke, it looks like its going to be the only nuke program thats going in the right direction with php 5 dev. Plus I don't know yet how stable nuke is on php 5. Anyone have that answer?

Chatserv I wouldn't even try to make it any more compadable with php 5, let FB do his job for once. That is if he knows how to code at all. But I dont want to turn this into a bashing topic.
Stick to php 5 Exclamation

Of all the things that FB can be, and is, slammed for, this in no way should be one of them. PHP5 is not Production ready so how can FB or any of us be held accountable? If you or anyone else CHOOSE to run a new, non-Production ready release of PHP, then 'Buyer Beware'. As I told you in private, unless you are forced to switch to PHP5, I would give it at least 6 months, if not a year, before considering it Production status. Even the big names out there are saying 9 months before you will see any kind of move towards it as a whole.

If you have heard mixed messages then go back to the messengers and get a list and start looking at nuke yourself to see if that is your experience. But, remember that you need to emulate their exact environment with their exact php.ini to see the REAL issue. The php.ini for PHP5 is not the same. It will matter also if you are running Apache 1 or 2, and the OS, and whether PHP5 is compiled as an Apache module or as a CGI.

As to those techs not listening to you, why would they? You told me that you have caused them to hate you from things in the past. What would you expect them to do now, listen to you? Why would they? Why should they?

Bottom line, there are so very many articles and opinions flying about concerning the why's and wherefore's concerning if/when/at-all you need/should-use PHP5. The vast majority of reliable hosts will not be making the switch anytime soon. Therefore I wouldn't expect to be seeing many applications ported soon either.
