Is the 'Sentinal Protected' Banner An Invitation To Hackers?

Or, more appropriately, if a hacker sees that banner and the Sentinel block on my site, is he going to take that as a challenge to try and hack my site?

Has anyone seen this to be an issue?

My site is fairly new and I don't think is very public yet, but when it is, I am curious as to how my advertising that it is protected will affect the amount of hacking attempts I will get.

Anyone else seen anything like this happen?

Trust me, the mentality of the majority of the script kiddies out there don't write anything. They wait for someone like waraxe to post a vulnerabilty and then they copy and paste it. Then they do a google search for nuke meta keywords or similar and then they try it.

Besides, who would know why they came to a site Smile

Back when I had my old site, I was devastated when that 'Security Team' whats-its hacked my website into oblivion. I was careless before and never backed up my databases, so I lost everything. Now we have all these protector programs coming out, and I think it's great, I just don't want to put a sign on my site saying 'Nya nya, you can't hack me!' if it's just going to make people want to try harder.

But, since I'm using your wonderful and free software, I want to let people know what I'm using and give them a link to get it themselves. So I guess, and no pressure here, that I'm putting it in your hands. Wink

- Do what makes you feel the safest - no offense taken. Maybe just use one of the smaller images?
