Well today as they say I got screwed ROTFL Mad
I have been moving all my domains over to a new register company but some how missed this one Mad
http://www.register.com are crooks Mad

Tim L.: Thank you for visiting Register.com's Live Support. How can I help you?
ME: I'm trying to renew a domain name. I see a service fee, of 25.
Tim L.: Hello Juan.
Tim L.: Please provide me with the domain name as this will help me assist you more effectively and efficiently.
ME: xxxxxx.com
Tim L.: Thank you for the domain name.
Tim L.: For how many years do you want to renew your domain name?
ME: 1 year renewal
Tim L.: Would you like to renew it for 2 years only at $65.00?
ME: No thank you. I would like 1 year for now if possible. I have never had to deal with the reinstatement fee since i have used register. This is part of the reason that register has been loosing most of my business. as you know same service can be given for much less then what register provides.
Tim L.: I will explain.
Tim L.: Following the expiration of a domain registration we may have the ability to reinstate the account so that you can renew your expired domain before it has become generally available to the public. There are no guarantees that we will be able to reinstate a domain after its expiration. If you would like an expired domain registration to be reinstated, you will be charged our then-current reinstatement fee in addition to the renewal fees for your domain registration.
Tim L.: I will renew your domain name for one year only at $50.95
ME: I have had renewals before that expired and again I state I never had to pay extra. You just gave me a nice load of spill but you know it's just trying to get more $ out of your good clients pocket which you are not treating properly. No one has the domain no one can sell the domain just after 1 day of it expiration, you know this, your company knows this as well.
Tim L.: I apologize for the delay in response.
Tim L.: $50.95 is the best price I can offer for one year reneal.
ME: Can you provide to me the agreement or a link to the agreement where it says register will charge me extra for this when I renewed or registered the domain originally? I don't mind paying, but I don't like to be taken advantage of as you very well know your company is doing.
Tim L.: Our services agreement is located at " http://www.register.com/titan/policy/servicesagreement.rcmx"
Tim L.: I am renewing your domain name at promotional price.
ME: Yes, this is your service agreement now, but when I purchased the domain and or renewed this service fee was not applicable. After a renewal and after you receive payment for this contract then it is only fare to have this new fee. No e-mail was sent to me stating that I was going to pay extra if it was not renewed on time. Also no call was given stating the same
Tim L.: You will lose all right on the domain name if it is not renewed before the expiration date.
Tim L.: We may have the ability to reinstate the account so that you can renew your expired domain before it has become generally available to the public.
Tim L.: We are able to renew your domain name with the reinstatement Fee.
ME: It takes months to lose the domain for it to become available to the public. I know the process this is why i did not worry about it. This fee is new, and applied prior to my previous contract which I agreed to.
ME: YOu are now trying to apply new service agreement that should not apply.
Tim L.: No, we allow grace period to renew domain names but we are able to offer this option with the help of reinstatement Fee.
ME: We are going around in circles. The reinstatement fee did not exist before. In fact it is new. I never knew of any reinstatment fee nor was it mentioned in the license agreement when I got the domain or when i previously resitered it. Since when have you implemented a service fee?
Tim L.: Yes, we were able to provide the grace period for free but it is now paid.
Tim L.: I am looking forward for your response.
ME: Ok, it is NOW paid, and not before. Therefore when or after I renew and with the new service agreement which I agree to only then should you be able to charge me for the grace period.
Tim L.: No, you will lose the domain name if it is not renewed. I have given you the best price I can offer.
ME: Ok, lets renew this then. What do you need.
Tim L.: Please provide me with the last four digits of your credit card that you wish to process at this time.
ME: You mean the ones that are in the account or can i give you a new cc
Tim L.: I can renew it with the desired credit card.
Tim L.: If it is not in the account manager then please provide me with it's number
ME: I'm not sure if it will work try 9029 ending numbers.
ME: If that does not work i'll provide a new one.
Tim L.: Okay.
Tim L.:

Before I process your order, please confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to the terms of the Register.com Services Agreement, located at: http://www.register.com/retail/policy/servicesagreement.rcmx

Tim L.: Do you agree?
ME: Yes...
Tim L.: Thank you. Please wait for a minute while I process your order.

Tim L.: Congratulations I have successfully renewed your domain name.
Tim L.: A receipt for this order has been sent via email to "jcs@xxxxxx.com".
ME: Thank you. I know the service fee or I feel the fee was not fare. This is part of the reason why I have moved nearly all my domains over to godaddy about 15 of them thus far. I kept the xxxxx.com account here because it has been since 03 I had here and just did not move over not too long ago, but I will be closing out this account and will not give more money to your company. this has nothing to do with you, but it is just not right to have this. Thanks in any case Tim.

END of story ROTFL Smack Cheers

Man that sucks $50.95 thats like 5 .com domains but i remember when i purchased my first domain (cant remember that name of the company) it was $14.99 for the .com but when it came to renew it they wanted $89.99 all i could do was laugh at them befor telling them they could keep it since then i have not had a problem with my 2 current domain providers godaddy and dynadot and also managed to buy the domain back for $9.99 a little while ago after a 2year wait cause i never needed it

Also on another note be carefull when signing up to hostgator with one domain because if you want to change it they have a fee but you can get it waived as i did by just telling them that all your previous hosts never charged and that you will leave, worked like a charm for me

What is wrong with good honest living kaching!
Companies like register.com and the ones you experienced don't need to do this to be successful! they always loose clients in the long run. If they would just reduce the cost a little perhaps not as low as godaddy or other similar... I would have stayed with them with all my domains. Goes to show there people and companies out there looking to screw you over any time they can Evil or Very Mad
