Riddle me this, RSS feeds stopped working

Suddenly, yesterday two of the blocks that I have pulling RSS feeds [normal nuke RSS blocks] stopped working. I tried deleting them and creating them again, but I get the error message “There is a problem with the RSS file URL”

And it’s not just the blocks, the RSS reader also doesn’t accept any URLs.

What's going on?

The blocks worked great since I installed them and I haven’t touched the core files for months.
