Theme refresh?

I am having a problem, when selecting different themes, the theme often does not change. If I log out, and log back in, then the theme previously selected appears...

Again to state for clarification:
I am in 3d theme.
I change to nuke news
3d still shows up.
I change to several other themes
3d still shows up
I log out
I log back in
the last theme I selected now shows up

Is this a known problem, or something I may have messed up???

Login as register user try changing in your_account area and then login as admin and change the default theme in admin panel>> Preferences .

Thanks, but been there done that - the default theme is different as well...
when I log out ads admin and as user the last theme "active"stays no matter that the default is different and that the last theme selected is different...
