First I have to ask if you added the lines to the mainfile.php
Code:

if ($forum_admin == 1) {
         include("../../../modules/Your_Account/includes/mainfileend.php");
     } elseif ($inside_mod == 1) {
         include("../../modules/Your_Account/includes/mainfileend.php");
     } else {
         include("modules/Your_Account/includes/mainfileend.php");
     }

If so have you tried clearing your browser cookie cache and logging in again?

I set mine to no- on use email activation, I realised most people wont register if they have to go to their email etc... just my 2 cents Smile

Yeah I think while it is a really useful tool to use email validation the majority of nuke sites aren't that mission critical that they should have to require it by default.
