Hi there! I've been away for some time and everything has changed!!! WOW! This looks great!

I have a question.

I turned from 6.8 to 7.4. I'd like to know how to make the points system work for users' past actions. In other words, is the points system retroactive and how?

Thanks for your help Wink

I run 7.4 and turned off the nuke points and installed the points system from portedmods.com. I ran into one install issue with the database but was able to fix it easily. I also installed the arcade mod with points system from Codezwiz.com. Everything is working great.

Oh yeah, when you install the points system it asks if you want to update veryone's points retro.

This probably didn't answer your question, though. lol

http://www.portedmods.com/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownloaddetails&cid=43&lid=415&ttitle=BlackJack#dldetails

Just so you know I installed this points system for the sole purpose of using points in my arcade. I don't think this will give points for news stories posted on the home page. I am pretty sure it is just a forums thing, although I could be wrong.

Chat posted somewhere how to disable the nuke points system but I can't seem to find it right now. Maybe he will see this and post for us.

Once you install this and try to run the database query if you get stopped by a message that says you have the wrong phpbb version just post the install.php (or watever it is called) here and we can turn it into a simple sql query for you to run on your database. That is what I did and it worked like a charm. I may have posted it in the ported mods forums but I can't remember. Good luck!

Thank you very much for your kind help, TheosEleos, but that did not answer my question...

I would basically need to update everyone's points retro using NUKE 7.4 points system. Is this possible? Thank you in advance Wink

I don't know if that is possible using 7.4. I would bet an sql query could be written to credit each person according to what they have done.

Get me a list of what you want people given points for and I will see if I can get a query for you.

I have another (and by far mor important) problem! The points system does not even work for the present actions! It simply does not count points!! Sad

I tried to install the points mode for portedmod and it killed my forums. Other have had great success.

When the points system that came with nuke stopped working I had to delete the mysql entry and recreate it to start it up again Smile

so u suggest deleting the mysql entry and recreate it?

I upgraded from 6.8 to 7.4 and the points system simply won't work. I created a usergroup and assigned points but users don't get any points at all. The points system simply... does not exist! Very Happy

That's what I did.

The table is

points int(10) not null

and put a zero in the Default area.

If you want rename the current points to points_old that way if the new points thing doesn't work, you haven't lost your information.

Did you go to the Edit Groups in the Nuke ACP and set up the points system? You have to configure what uses points in that section before it will work

That would be much appreciated! Smile I set up nuke points system attributing points to users according to their actions. I can give u a screenshot of the administration page or just write here the actions and the related points. What do you prefer?

I can't find Recommendations in the database.
I don't think the database keeps track of votes either.

Maybe you can tell me what tables and fields you want points assigned to or something. Some tables just use the username and not an id number.

Like I said, I'm not a genius at this but I can get it done. Very Happy
