News Article sorting

Is there a way for the news articles in nuke to sort correctly?

I view the main news modules page and the articles are never sorted as newest first.

Ive scanned the code, checked the sql query, etc, nothing visibly wrong.

Yet the news stories come out mixed up. I want the newest story first, second newest second, etc. This news article sort has always been screwed up since the first day ive used php-nuke in v5.6 and its still screwed up in v7.6. What the heck gives?

All ideas would be appreciated.

Mine have always sorted correctly since 6.0. Do they appear to be right on my site?

well, i dont see a main news page on your site.

My problem is experienced by more than just me. And more than one browser. Why would i want the newest news article to be near the bottom of the list? or all shuffled up?

??? The home page is the News module. Isn't that what you're talking about?

ok, im slapping my forehead. ya thats what im talking about. But mine just arent sorted right. they never have been. I echoed the SQL query built by the news module, ran it in phpmyadmin, and it comes out sorted right.

But when i go to look at the news page, they are out of order. any idea what it is?

Are they out of order with the DeepBlue theme?

What I'm getting at is it might be a theme error. Just try it.

Thanks for the tip about the theme affecting the sorting of the news articles. Your hunch about the theme causing it was correct. I did a bit of code studying and found a lot of updating my themes needed and some fixes and some speed ups. Thanks again Smile
