The following folders do not require any changes:
blocks
db
images only requires uploading code.bg.jpg to the main images folder.
includes
language
themes

The following files require no changes:
backend.php
banners.php
config.php
header.php
index.php
robots.txt
ultramode.txt

The admin language file only requires a few lines added to the start of it right before:
Code:
define("_SEND","Send");

The New lines are:
Code:
define("_DOWNLOAD","Downloads");

define("_ENCYCLOPEDIA","Encyclopedia");
define("_FAQ","F.A.Q.");
define("_NEWS","News");
define("_REVIEWS","Reviews");
define("_ADMPOLLS","Survey / Polls");
define("_TOPICS","Topics");
define("_WEBLINKS","Web Links");

The following files must be deleted from the admin case, links and modules folder:
all files relating to content, faq, download, encyclopedia, links, polls, reviews, stories, topics and users.
The rest of the files in the case and links folders require no changes.

The following files are the only ones that need updating in the admin/modules folder:
authors.php
backup.php
forums.php
modules.php
newsletter.php
optimize.php

All module main files can remain as they are, the only change is that you will need to upload an admin folder into the following modules:
Content
Downloads
Encyclopedia
FAQ
News
Reviews
Surveys
Topics
Web_Links
Your_Account

The following file must be deleted:
auth.php

The upgrade74-75.php file must be run from the main directory (where mainfile.php and config.php are) and deleted once run. That's about it.

Well just to let everybody know, I fixed it.

I had to upload index.php, at least for me it was a required file to update.

p.s. thanks Chat, even with my problem with index.php it still took me less time to upgrade my second site then it did my first where I overwrote everything.

Hi, according to the information above, some thing seems wrong. I have followed the instructions to upgrade 7.4 to 75 and when I delete the auth.php my Forum won't open .. I get and error ::

Warning: main(includes/auth.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /xxxxx/www/xxxxxx/modules/Forums/common.php on line 193

Warning: main(): Failed opening 'includes/auth.php' for inclusion (include_path='') in /xxxxx/www/xxxxxx/modules/Forums/common.php on line 193

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: auth() in /home2/www/sakafete/modules/Forums/index.php on line 304

I also did a new install on another site using the zip file PHP-Nuke-7.5 and if I remove that same file from the /include/auth.php I get the same error.

Could you please clarify

Don't remove the auth.php from the includes directory that is need by the forums. Just remove it from the phpnuke root.

I've upgraded my site several times, and I'm not sure what version I'm currently at. I want to go to 7.5, but where do I check my current version on my site? I thought it was on the statistic page, but I don't see it.

Open your database in myphpadmin and check your nuke_config table... The last field is Version. You may get lucky or it may be empty if the data was removed during an update. (Removing the version from the statistics module was done in a post 7.0 update to prevent hackers from seeing your version).

thx for great support/help. However I just followed the directions above for upgrading from 7.4 to 7.5 and now my admin login will not work. I only have 1 admin login and now I am unable to admin site. Let me say this, I had already ran the upgrade74-75 before I changed/removed the files listed here...my admin access was very limited. I followed the directions above and the ran the upgrade74-75.php again. Site seems to work fine but cannot login as admin. Any guesses as to where I f'd up and is there any way to fix this, retrieve login data, or create another god user.

Thanks in advance for any help possible.

PS...you site is great, I just found it today while searching for a 7.5 admin no access fix.

I got it to work by copying admin.php over one from 7.4

It works... worship

What i found when i broke the admin part of my site when i first upgraded was that Name when you create an admin account doesn't point to administrator id it seems to be either an old table column used for nothing or a unique id. Either way the actual administrotr id, the one you login as an admin with is Nickname. Once I figured this out all my admin problems with 7.5 were fixed. Programically i do not understand the logic in the names as Nickname doesn't really correspond to Login Id in my head but maybe the developers had some logic to it. This seems to be a change made between 7.4 and 7.5 as I don't remember nickname being the login before I remember name being the login.

IIRC, that's a sign of not deleteing the excess old files out of the admin subdirectories. I could have sworn that we had discussed it before here but I can't find the thread.

I followed the instructions above and now my Administration Menu only has the "logut/exit" button. Everything else is missing. Can some tell me where my Admin buttons went?
