is there a hack for CNBYA 4.4.0 to make the forums use the YA profiles and not the forum profiles?

No but you can edit the profile_view_body.tpl to hide duplicate entries until there is a work around to replace it entirely.

Is replacing the forum profile really the best way? What about the many users that have forum mods that are displayed in the forum profile such as the shop mod, pets mod, vehicle mod etc?

Seems to me there must be a way to enable the added fields created by cnb to be displayed within the forum profile.

In the next release of cnbya there will be an option to automatically redirect all calls to the forum profile to the cnbya profile.
By design we chose not to supply mods for making the extra fields appear in the forums profile as we aim towards using (and improving) the cnbya profiles.

Expect cnbya 5.0.0 in a month or so Smile

Cheers,
Richard

Ok I can uderstand that, but what about all of the users that have forum mods that display extra features in the forum profile? By avoiding the forum profile entirely you are in essence removing the option to add many forum mods, meaning if the forum profile is redirected to the cnbya then many of the mods will be useless.

There are many more forum profile mods out there than there are YA hacks, I know because I like many others have them in operation on my site. I would hate to see such a wonderful piece of coding (cnbya) become something that negates the possibility of adding all of the useful mods (many that interact with each other).

Might I suggest that instead of entirely redirecting around the forum profile, create a link within the CNBYA profile that says "Forum Profile", "More Info" or something to that extent, so that users can view the Forum Profile if so desired?

Personally I only use CNBYA for the admin features, but have included a link within the forum profile that points to the CNBYA. I do this because I use the Forum registration in conjunction with a ported phpBB hack that allows me to define required fields (more than CNBYA currently offers) and also because my forum is highly modified.

I am not in any way bashing CNBYA, I in fact love it and have been involved from the time it was passed from Bob. I am just anxious to see it NOT become a feature that limits the potential a user has in implementing it. I hope that makes sense.

In fact we are fine with providing the option the other way around as well.
I mean to redirect every mention to the cnbya profile to the forum profile.
The choice is up to the siteadmin.

What I just wanted to say is that the cnbya team is not (in the foreseeable) future going to port the extra field functions to the forum profile.

If someone will code it, of course we would love to ship it with cnbya as an option though Smile

I thought this might clear up some misunderdtandings...

Cheers,
Richard

Fantastic. Smile And I hope I didn't come across as rude. Sometimes I do without meaning to.
