I have imported some countries to my 'Import to IP2Country' function.

How can I tell which ones I have imported and which ones still require importing?

Will it cause a major problem if I import the same country twice?

I think we did touch on this issue recently, but I have forgotten what the deal is and cannot relocate the last posting.

If you reimport a country you have already imported it will simply tell you that it didn't insert due to it overlapping. That said, with NukeSentinel 2.4.0 you can reimport the same country multiple times and get no errors because each country will clear the old data from the database before inserting the new data for it's self.

Now, how to tell if you have already imported a country. I do this, As I import I am logged into the site via ftp so once a country is imported I can delete it's data file from the server. This way the worst I can do is to reimport one country more then once.

Bob,

Thanks for your preply, but the way you explain all this makes all this a little unclear.

You initially explalain, 'If you reimport a country you have already imported it will simply tell you that it didn't insert due to it overlapping. That said, with NukeSentinel 2.4.0 you can reimport the same country multiple times and get no errors because each country will clear the old data from the database before inserting the new data for it's self.'.

You explaination suggests that if someone does not have NukeSentinel 2.4.0, then when they import the same county twice, a message will be displayed advising that the country was not imported '...due to it overlapping. As you will have noted, I am running NukeSentinel 2.4.2 so I assume this is would be the scenario in the case for my installation. Correct?

What does confuse all this though, is when you continue to explain, '...with NukeSentinel 2.4.0 you can reimport the same country multiple times and get no errors because each country will clear the old data from the database before inserting the new data for it's self. This suggests that if you do not have NukeSentinel 4.2.0 you do not receive any errors and old data is removed, but surely this is a good thing? I mean, you dont want old data , correct? This is all a little amboguous to say the least.
