helloooooo trouble is here

I have a stupid question

I have my website on my buddys server temporarly because im looking to get a new one but my question is

I have linked my domain name to his server but my website is not directly on the public_html it is public_html/kemo/nuke/index.php

my question is can I link this link www.mywebsite.com/kemo/nuke/index.php to www.mywebsite.com

?

Surely all you need to do is set up a redirect?

i want when someone types in www.mywebsite.com to bring them to the actual place the website is on wich is www.mywebsite.com/kemo/nuke/index.php

right now when they type in www.mywebsite.com it brings them to my buddys index.html

In that case a simple redirect will not work as it will prevent visitors from getting to your friends site.
I'm basing this on the assumption that when you type www.mysite.com the server will try to serve the first available index page, whether that be a valid index.htm / index.html / index.php etc - this of course would take visitors directly to your friends site.
Would it not be easier to ask your freind to place a link to your site from his homepage, especially if this is a temprary measure?
