I downloaded and followed instructions for Gt Nextgen 0.4 but when i replace the header.php file with the supplied with the download, the whole site goes blank with no error message or anything.
I followed the instructions to a T, in the readme's however, whenever it asked me to to a find and replace in part of the file, it was already done so i didnt need to change anything.
What could be causing this. Help me please....
Thankyou in advance. |

I cant direct u to the problem. Who does will most proberly need your version and patch details.
In the mean time try running the 4a update.
At the same time 2x check the code changes u have made.
Are u using a good file editor like Crimson editor dont use notepad, wordpad or office untilies to edit. They can add hidden charactors that will mess stuff up. |

Sorry for the lack of above info...
I'm on version 7.3 with the chatserve (i think thats it) patch on.
I didnt want to go upto 4a till i got 4 working. And I havent had to change any files as they seemed to be all done but i only use dreamweaver anyway.
I havent changed any existing custom modules or any htaccess files.
The spaces in the link are left in on purpose as i dont want any search engines picking it up yet. The site is working now as i have reverted back to my backup copy of header.php, footer.php and modules.php. |

Just an update and a bit more info....
I got the 7.3 patched PHP Nuke site working using my backup files. Double checked that mod_rewrite is installed (and it is). I then deactivated all blocks so you jjust got the homepage and thats it. I then went through the whole installation process again, database entry is sucessful and all files are over written as needed. NO FILES HAVE CHANGED from what was supplied in the download... But still when i go to the site, nothing happens... Just a blank page with no messages or anything. Someone should surely be able to help me... |

Have you ever checked the blank site with the http viewer ?
And I quess you forgot the robots.txt.If you don´t like your website in the index of several search engines you need this in your robots.txt:
User-agent: *
Disallow: / |
