Hi

Is it true that you can rename admin.php to whatever.php on phpnuke7.6 and all the admin files will work?

Yes but not all third party and older applications will. There is no need to do that. Just use NukeSentinel(tm) and you are more than protected.

well you want belive me but im not able to set it up right it seems to be working only when I turn on the Admin CGIAuth and enable the htaccess and staccess i 'm not able to log into the admin page everythig has been added to the files

also the admins are protected and set in Admin Auth List bit still cant log into the admin page when i rename the htaccess

it is al;so chmoded to 666
