Hey

Like here, I am using phpbb 2.0.6 ported to nuke on my site.
I posted a messege on phpbb.com for some help and been told i am 15 versions behind the last one.

meaning we are way out of date - my quastion is: dont we need to upgrade?

In http://www.nukeresources.com/ there upgrade files to current version but I do not want to upgrade till having some more opinions on this one.

Thank you!

What do you mean with "like here" ?

If you look at all the changes made in every version then you possible know the reasons why its better to use the current version.

I know the phpBB upgrade is a never-ending story and many guys are afraid to do this manually.

Umm are you using phpNuke 7.6? If so, you have 2.0.10 installed. If using the Patched files, you have at least 2.0.17

You definitely want to confirm what version you are using. It is the line "Powered by phpBB 2.x.x" in your footer of the forums or forums admin panel

You definitely want to upgrade to at least 2.0.20, as there are significant vulnerabilities with older releases.

evaders99, I am using phpbb 2.0.6, here you got the same version (phpbb 2.0.6) you can check this by clicking on "Forums ©" at the bottom of the forum.

I think I am using phpnuke 7.6 with patched files (how can I be sure of my phpnuke version?). at the bottom of my forums I got:

Code:
Powered by phpBB 2.0.6 © 2001 phpBB Group :: Hebrew By phpBBHeb Staff

and if I am clicking on "Forums ©" at the bottom of the forum I got:

Code:
 Module's Name: Forums

 Module's Version: 2.0.10
 Module's Description: phpBB 2.0.10 port for PHP-Nuke
 License: GNU/GPL
 Author's Name: chatserv
 Author's Email: chatserv@nukeresources.com

and in forum admin I got:

Code:
Powered by phpBB 2.0.6 © 2001-2003 phpBB Group

phpBB port v2.0.7 based on Tom Nitzschner's phpbb port 2.0.6 upgraded to phpBB 2.0.7 standalone.
Ported and tested by:
Nuke Cops

BBtoNuke 2.0.7 by Nuke Cops © 2004http://www.nukecops.com

So what should I do?

thank you,

Roy

Pretty sure the Patched files come with 2.0.17.
The version number should be in your config table - use phpMyAdmin and check. Also the Patched files contain a Patched copyright in mainfile.php

I'm guessing maybe you never ran the phpBB upgrade scripts.
