Center news categories block

Hi,
I want do a center news categories block. Each one must contain last 5 news under the topic. Like this:
Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login!
I tried too much but i couldnt make a center block with 2 column and i dont want classical NSN, etc. How can i put my 2-4 blocks together in only 2 block? I want to do it with right and left side of the center block but i could not be able to do.
Or
Have you an idea about making a online newspaper site? Is there any configured theme like this you know?

That's more like a "Topics" block type function.

You could borrow the code from any other two column center block and then change the code for it to use the Topics module code to display the last 5 posts for each topic.
