Got home from work this morning and couldn't log in to my site ( www.doulos-usa.com ). When I try to log in (as regular user) I just get returned to the home page with no error msg about having the wrong username/pwd. When I call the admin page, NukeSentinal asks for and accepts my uname/pwd and then I get the admin login page. But when I enter my god uname and pwd (or any other admin uname/pwd) I just get returned to the admin login page without any error messages.

Also, when I click on a link that sends me somewhere within nuke, I get returned to the home page. When I click on a link that sends me outside nuke everything works fine.

Pulling my hair out again. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Specs:
php-nuke 7.6 patched 3.1
server running php 4.4.1 and FreeBSD

What have you changed since it last worked? That's always your beginning point. Either restore your site to the backup you made and/or carefully retrace your changes. Also, has your host recompiled PHP and/or Apache? Maybe they did and changed the configuration files. Turn display_errors on in your .htaccess file or in your nuke config file and then check your server error logs for messages.

The only changed 2 things:

1. in my php.ini - register_globals = "off" - it was on.

2. changed the site key from the default to something else.

I tried reversing these changes, but same result.

The host did an upgrade to php but no other complaints on the forums about it.

What is the format for turning display_errors in the .htaccess file? I am a php infant.

Nuke requires register_globals to be ON. Change it back and restart your server.

Wait, I thought the whole problem with OSCommerce was that it required register_globals to be ON and the default for my host was OFF. My nuke site worked fine with r_g set to default but OSC wouldn't work, so, I set r_g to ON and then OSC started working. At least that is how I remembered it.

Anyway, I did a restore and it works now.

Thanks Raven
