i have followed all the steps, when I got here:

i actually got the table missing error

so I went and installed the sql dumps, one by one, starting, of course, with the raven one , and after that I just got the default welcome screen from phpnuke install.
Missing step 7, is that a problem?

The reason you got that message was that you tried to access your site before you installed the tables  - Regardless, if you have the welcome screen then all is well. Good job! |

i have tried to import the nuke_users from 7.9 patched to this, it imported. You need to get rid of the "karma" field in the table and it worked.
Had problems with the god account after that, but nothing big probably.
the forums will import ok as well i think, i was using ...18 as well , so i see no problems there.
but i like all like new since the install is fresh.
hope this time sentinel will work .....
btw, i had to untar the sql dumps and input them manually 1 by 1...
would not insert with the script, might be my provider. |

first 2 problems:
httpauth no available, using cgi - problem solved
admin file renamed to xxx.php, modified in config.php and .access file.
link works, panel accessed, but administration left module still has links to admin.php file. (administration, new story,content....)
i wonder why? |

i see.
i will not
so far, new host seemd to be a LOT faster then the old one, Ipowerweb.
admin panel now loads under 2 seconds.
raven, i do not know if i owe you or you owe me, i have worked night 2 weeks ago to install 7.9, patched, sentinel and more, i made the site public then you released the 7.6 distro....now i have deleted ALL users and news just to install your version...starting all over in the name of stability and security...
but still, i havent tested sentinel yet....
good work, nicely done.
if all ok, this will stay like this for at least 2 years from now on.... |

forum permisssions - results in a weird page, lots of weird characters.

You have been blocked from entering this site.
You have attempted a Union attack on this site.
regarding our past forum posts into this matter, sentinel DOES NOT add god ip to protected range automatically....phpmyadmin and delete manully now... |

When you scan for new admins, initially, NS will add the *god* admin ID to a protected status. IP's change, so it cares nothing about protecting IP's and never has 
There is too much hype over register_globals, imo. Having register_globals on in a nuke world is perfectly okay. Once again, whether nuke or not, one setting will not protect you from the kiddies. You do need to have it on to use certain programs that have not been recoded. To see if your site can run with it off, just add it to your .htaccess file. if it runs okay while they are off, then leave it off. You will/may gain some protection if you have very poorly written scripts. |

my sentinel, well, your sentinel, did not add me to any protected or except range or ip anywhere.
using a union example banned me from the site, no problem, god or no.
only the use of phpmyadmin and deleting the database entry manually helped regain access...

If you goto Admin Auth List, you should be in a Protected status. It doesn't use the IP so you won't see that anywhere. Only your user name is protected. If not, just set it. You will still see the Banned screen but you should not get banned. |

nuke installed in ../../public_html
how can i access ../../public_html/directory1 ?
this should be out of the htaccess protection so i can just browse to my subdomain.domain.net (which is my ../../public_html/directory1)
just .htaccess file? and how... |

i have a raven76distro in root
now I have a subdomain in root/1/
root is protected by htaccess from nuke, and the subdirectory root/1 as well.
i want root/1 OUT of .htaccess so i can build a few html pages for a subdomain.
can nuke help me here or i need to modify htaccess..and how?
