Raven,

I will add topics as I start working with and testing the new distro! Great idea! In fact, I was in the middle of doing just this because I am finding myself in need of a solid, base nuke distribution that I can start as a base for new sites. I was hoping to use Steph's W3C compliant version, but I just cannot wait any longer for him to release it (I'll just have to re-assess things once Steph releases it), so thanks for this!!!

One thing I was doing when creating my distribution was to change the base nuke Welcome message to be a "Parts List" for the distribution. As I was adding new modules/tweaks, I would simply update the message text accordingly. This way, I can always go back to this message, even if I deactivate it once I am live production, to see what the particular site's parts list is.

Something maybe to consider as this distribution grows.

How exciting! Thanks for doing another one of these and let me know if you need any help.

Regards,
montego

Good idea! I think the GT mod will be the next thing I will release. I'm working on an Audit program to take some of the "pain" of installation troubleshooting out of the picture. It should be quite helpful. I am also working on an addon facility. That may not see fruition because of how convoluted the nuke structure is, but we'll see. In other words, wouldn't it be nice if there was an RPM typr distribution avaliable Smile ? It's just a thought at the moment but I am thinking about it.

Couldn't agree more with everything, including the "convoluted" statement. Laughing

Might ask Steph if you could use his new "credits" module. Might be useful also with logging the versions of modules/hacks that are installed as well as giving the author(s) credit.

Not wanting to complicate things but.. Smile
Might also be useful to have some sql data tucked away too.
i.e. if/when a modules gets installed there is somewhere the plain text contents of the install.php or sql update could be hidden away for future reference in case of module removal.

Yet, another excellent point. Every "add-on" that I supply will have an uninstall method of some kind.
