After installing nuke with patch and sentinel and whatever else that's pretty basic it's time to add great, informative, cool, fun and usefull modules and blocks.

So in my case of course I want a gallery a calendar and some other thingies. Going through the readme's and docs I come to this problem ...

Most of the modules and scripts require adjustments in your nuke script which is by now all fixed to the latest patch and security fixes.

How should one deal with that? I don't want to just overwrite code and script and find out I screwed up the basic nuke settings Neutral

Get yourself a good compare program. Several good ones:

- Always make backups, of everything before starting.
- If the addons offer replacement scrips, use your compare program to see what they may be missing and then merge the differences.

What I normally do is have a clone of my production system for testing. Then, I will make the changes as per their instructions, pretty much w/o question. Then I test it. If it works, then I run my compare to see what security fixes may not yet be present. If it doesn't work, well, then it's off to the debugging.

Thanks Very Happy I downloaded ExamDiff and I'm sure it'll make my nuke life a whole lot easier.

Yes, I do have my own little home webserver, apache, mysql which is an exact image of what I have on the webhosting. Still I'm not an PHP expert and a lot of scripting is gibberish to me lol so often I don't know what I can or can't take out without opening up security holes. It's the debugging that causes me headaches! hahaha

But ....... the forums rule Very Happy and so far have always helped me out.
