Hi Raven and everyone, Happy New Year Smile

Hello guys,

Does anyone know of a good solution on how to enable all visitors to see a specific module but restrain their rights?

I want everyone to be able to see and browse a module but in order for them to be able to perform actions like inputting data or or actually using the module for what it is made, they should be for one, registered and 2 their right to keep using the module after a defined length of use (1month) depends on their membership status.

I am trying to find a solution to give members a trial period of some modules usage.
My phpnuke version is 7.6.2.9.

I hope someone can help me out here.

That has to be defined in the module. For example, in NSN Group Downloads (an addon module from http://nukescripts.net), you can specify that only members can download, only members of specific groups can download, or allow anyone to download - by category. You can also specify who can submit downloads.

The key is that the module controls that.

mhmm yes, i already thought i would have to change my module's script for it to work. But i was hoping their would be some kind of module or existing script that would for example protect some links.
For example a module that manages links that you have added on some kind of list in a config panel and that generate a check to see if the user who wants to use a link on the site is just a visitor, registered member, member status etc... and their membership status would be allowed specific permissions.

I dont know if such solution exists but it would be a cool module wouldn't it ?

The NSN Group Downloads effectively does this. Also, Raven added an enhancement to the forums here that only displays links to members.
