tried playing with that before, it changes the time but not the time zone.
ie: still displays CET not GMT

Just thought i'd add, the time and zone are correct in the phpbb but not in news articles

Yeah lots of people asking, no answers
funny that most seem to have GMT and want something else.

From what i've read it's a bit of a php problem in that it want's the sever location as it's time base.
Strange that phpbb gets it right

I changed my timezone by modifying theme.php

just added
putenv("TZ=YOUR_TIMEZONE_HERE");

at the beginning (after <?php ) of theme.php

Some different TZ's are here: http://www.timezoneconverter.com/cgi-bin/tzref.tzc

mine was: putenv("TZ=Pacific/Honolulu");

I'm guessing you'd put:
putenv("TZ=GMT");

HTH,
kai
